Before real estate, Clay spent over two decades in executive leadership at some of America's largest retailers, where he developed expertise in high-stakes negotiation, operations, and problem-solving — skills he now applies to every deal. During that time, he experienced the market firsthand as a buyer, homeowner, seller, and landlord in San Francisco and New York. Having been on the other side of the table, he understands what clients are going through — not just professionally, but personally.
With a background in design and construction, Clay evaluates properties through a different lens — quickly identifying what's cosmetic, what's structural, and where value is often hidden — or overlooked. Whether working with a modern new build or a century-old San Francisco Victorian, he brings the same rigor and understands that he is managing his clients' significant financial asset.
Since moving to San Francisco in the mid-90s, Clay has lived in eight different neighborhoods, developing a block-by-block understanding of the city that goes far beyond the data.
Outside of work, Clay is with his family and their dogs, exploring the city he is proud to call home. He's at his best when traveling, enjoying a great restaurant, or vacationing near the water — surrounded by people who make him laugh.
